Our Mission

We are a nonprofit working to secure affordable and equitable access to ice sports and recreation for people of all ages, identities, and abilities in Portland, Oregon.

Our Values

Inclusivity: Skating is for everyone regardless of socioeconomic background, athletic ability, ethnicity, gender identity, age, faith tradition, or any other characteristic

Sportsmanship: We sustain our community by cheering each other on.

Accessibility: Skating should be accessible and affordable to public skaters, serious athletes, and tourists by being centrally located and equitably-priced.

How we got here

In the spring of 2026, a Master Plan was approved by Portland’s Planning and Development commission for the re-development of the 24-acre plot on which the Lloyd Center mall has sat since 1960. The master plan is mixed-use and includes a vision for housing, retail, and public green spaces for gathering, contingent on demolition of the existing mall. Plans to preserve or replace Lloyd Center’s existing ice sheet are not included in the Master Plan, which will leave the community of Portland without access to an accessible, permanent, year-round ice sheet within the city limits. Our team came together to address this critical need for our sporting and recreation communities.
