Thanks to enthusiasm from City Council President Jamie Dunphy and City Councillor Loretta Smith, we were able to secure a meeting with Prosper Portland. Having a collaborative partner with the city allows us to move more quickly to secure a location that aligns with our vision to serve the public and bring skating back to underserved areas.
Last month, we shared that we identified over 20 potential sites for a temporary or permanent rink. Following our successful first meeting with Prosper Portland, we’ve honed in on 3 locations that have the most immediate potential. While we continue to cast a wide net, being able to narrow our focus enables us to start taking steps forward to actually pitch our vision to developers.
As we enter this new phase, it’s time to bring some expert architects and project managers to the table. Your sustaining donations mean more than ever! Which is why we’re excited to announce the BISC Backer Program, where you can sign up to make monthly contributions to keep the work going!
Our 501(c)3 application is in the hands of the IRS! Once they approve our application, we will be able to accept tax deductible donations.
